Owner and Head Coach Cody Ringle focuses on Program Design, Weightlifting, and Improving Movement Patterns. He’s committed to improving the quality of people’s lives through strength and conditioning. “Whether it’s a high school athlete who wants to develop strength and speed to play their sport at the next level, or the grandmother who only wants to be able to pick up her grandkids and live independently until 100, it doesn’t matter,” he says. “I have the unique ability to help someone live a better life, every single day and that is powerful stuff.”
Today an experienced CrossFit Competitions athlete, Cody was introduced to CrossFit by his older brother Stan a few years back. “When I got back from college, I was overweight and out of shape. I remember my first workout involving Ring Rows, Push Ups, and Air Squats. I almost threw up and didn’t come back for about three months!” When he did come back, it took a matter of only a couple of classes and he was hooked. He loves the CrossFit ideology, methodology, principles, and its ability to change lives—and is constantly working to improve the coaching abilities of our staff as well as his own.

Coach Ian Burkhart has been a CrossFitter since 2013, and he specializes in olympic lifting. “In our sport, we hear the phrase “grind” or “hard work pays off” all the time; but that’s what I love about it,” he says. “I love the daily grind that comes naturally with CrossFit. I love how there is no “secret sauce”, if you put the hard work in every day, you’ll get to where you want to be.”
An avid baseball player for his entire life, Ian caught for 18 years by continuing into a collegiate baseball career until he became injured in his Junior year. After that, he did continue to work out and that’s when he saw two coaches from other teams. “They were doing these cool movements and looking like they wanted to die while having so much fun doing it,” he says. “I asked if I could join a few days a week to supplement my traditional bodybuilding and I was hooked instantly.” With this new learning experience ahead, Ian’s love and passion for the sport took off, and he never looked back from there. “I love coaching members, because I love seeing their constant growth. Even though our members may not see it, as a coach you do. I love seeing that inner fight they’re having about not putting the bar down, or rowing faster.” he says “those moments are priceless.”

Coach Stephen Graham specializes in powerlifting and strength. He is passionate for helping people leave a legacy and transforming their life. “Coaching our members is such a rewarding portion of my day. I take great joy in hearing stories of transformations,” he says. “Being apart of someone’s fitness journey is what gets me out of bed in the morning.”
Throughout his life, Stephen has had a competitive streak, which ultimately lead him to CrossFit. With a background in many sports, such as tennis, hockey, and rugby, he ended up having injuries which made it tough to continue in his pursuit of these sports, however this is what lead him to powerlifting. “I had a tough time coping with the fact I could not perform at a high level anymore. I may not have been able to run fast and jump high, but it turns out, I was still pretty strong. Powerlifting was my next competitive venture, starting my journey with wins in my first 2 competitions.” Stephen values hard work above all else, and encourages people to pursue their own strength. “The loud slam of weights hitting the ground is like music to my ears.”
While they may spend a lot of time at Fortitude Strength, you can often find him cruising the streets on his motorcycle or crashing through the mud with his daughter on their 4 wheeler.
